Legacy Joins the Watermark Family

We at Watermark Retirement Communities are excited to welcome ten Legacy Senior Living communities into the Watermark family August 1st. With the addition of these communities, Watermark now proudly manages 50 communities across the country, including 12 in New York.

Watermark has been on the forefront of the senior housing industry for 30 years and is known for visionary leadership, successful operations and high levels of resident, family and associate engagement and satisfaction. Transitioning communities is not new to us. Nearly all of our communities came to Watermark through acquisition or management assignment. Now we look forward to melding our experience and perspective with that of our associates in Rochester.

Overseeing the seamless transition will be Watermark’s newest Managing Director, David Goldsmith. Having been repeatedly recognized for his outstanding leadership as a Watermark Executive Director of The Fountains of RiverVue in Tuckahoe NY, including Executive Director of the Year, David is bound to become a trusted mentor to the ten Executive Directors in his region.

As this transition gets underway, we are looking forward to getting to know our new associates, residents and their families. In the months to come, we will be introducing our signature Watermark programs including Watermark University with a catalog of diverse and evolving class offerings, taught by associates, residents and expert guests. Watermark University helps residents and associates thrive by giving them abundant choices for engaging in mind and body fitness for life. Classes focus on each of the Seven Dimensions of Well-being: Physical, Social, Intellectual, Spiritual, Emotional, Environmental, and Vocational. We’ll also launch the Learning Center for associates, the Naya caregiver and Thrive Dining™ programs for memory care and more.

We’re looking forward to the future and thank you for being part of Watermark. Welcome aboard!

What a joy it is to come to the Legacy at Maiden Park to visit my mom! The moment we met with your staff on our first open house visit, we immediately felt the presence of caring and loving individuals! I would like you to know that it has continued since my mom became a resident at The Legacy at Maiden Park. The entire staff has been accommodating and attentive to the needs my mom who is 94 and her sister (also a new resident) who is 105 years old is amazing! The environment is uplifting, clean and each room is very bright as we were allowed to make my mom’s room her very own. Your awesome activities director has provided wonderful daily entertainment for the residents to participate in every single day! The food is awesome and especially like that most of the desserts are homemade! Your nursing staff is beyond doubt very helpful in managing any concerns we may have for my mom and thankful for a wonderful Bible Study to bring spiritual nourishment to the residents as well.
If there was such a thing as a five star rating, this Legacy at Maiden Park would receive all five from my family! Thanks again for providing a caring and loving new home for my mom and all the residents living at this Legacy!
